PERAN DOSEN DALAM MENDAMPINGI MAHASISWA MELAKSANAKAN KEGIATAN SOSIAL DI MASYARAKAT

The social activities conducted in Gampong Deah Ujong Baroh reflect a practical implementation of student community engagement. Various participatory activities were carried out, including teaching at religious schools, cleaning public facilities, and supporting the organization of the village-level Qur’an Recitation Competition (MTQ). These programs were developed based on field observations and community deliberations to ensure relevance and responsiveness to local needs. Active involvement of village residents in both planning and execution phases demonstrates the effectiveness of a community-based collaborative approach. Tangible outcomes include increased learning enthusiasm among children, enhanced communal awareness of environmental hygiene, and revived participation in religious activities. The strategic role of supervising lecturers serving as both academic mentors and problem-solving facilitators significantly contributed to the program’s success. For students, this initiative provided experiential learning opportunities that connected academic theories with real-world practice. They improved their social communication skills, developed participatory leadership, and gained sensitivity to local socio-cultural dynamics. The synergy between students, community members, and academic mentors proved vital to the program’s impact and opened prospects for sustainable development rooted in local potential.
